The conversation does not need to end. I encourage you to keep talking and keep sharing your thoughts on mental health as we work toward achieving mental wellness.

The Bell Let’s Talk campaign supports openly discussing mental illness through identification of its existence while providing support to those who are suffering from and continue to build resilience to endure daily challenges. If you are new to this journey it can be frightening and overwhelming to work towards achieving health and well-being. Thus, I congratulate you on accomplishing the first step: you have acknowledged your pain. The second step may be confusing, navigating your way through the mental health system to acquire support to assist you. The following resources may help you in acquire support and guidance.

Contact your health care provider to discuss your mental health symptoms. If you do not have a family physician, you can attend at a walk-in clinic or call Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000.

You may also contact the Mental Health Helpline 1-866-531-2600. This provides free information about mental health services in Ontario.

An online resource is eMentalHealth.ca which provides mental health resources in your community.

If you are in need of urgent care, you may contact one of the following crisis lines:
613-722-6914 in Ottawa and 1-866-996-0991 outside of Ottawa.

Kids Help Phone 1-800-668-6868

Do It for Daron 613-722-6521

You are not alone, even if you feel you are. Help is only a phone call, text or email away.
